SUN Tech Foundation Receives A $1000 Match Challenge for Area Students

February is Career and Technical Education Month!  The employees of MCPS of Central PA and Reich Web Consulting are helping the members of SUN Area Career & Technical Education Foundation kick off a $1000 Challenge Fund Campaign.  The Foundation is attempting to raise funds for a direct match donation of $1000 to receive matching funds from a generous donor in support of technical education and our future workforce!

The SUN Tech Foundation is committed to area students and their education at SUN Tech where students are learning valuable skills, obtaining industry credentials, and earning college credits.  The primary goal of the SUN Tech Foundation is to support students who lack the funds to purchase the necessary uniforms, tools, or certification tests needed to complete a training program and obtain entry into the workforce.  Funds are also used to support the PC Now program which allows all eligible students at SUN Tech to earn Penn College credits while attending SUN at no charge.  Students can earn as many as 16 credits in their career field.

Donations given to the SUN Tech Foundation can also be designated to the Summer Career Camp offered at SUN Tech for students in the surrounding School Districts entering 7th through 9th grade.  This camp provides students an opportunity to explore careers in a variety of the programs offered at SUN Tech.

All donations received by the Foundation are tax deductible and 100% of all funds are used to support student needs, thanks to Merchants’ Credit Processing Service of Central PA (MCPS) and its President Art Lieberman, who are paying all the costs and fees of the credit card processing.  The Foundation is a 501c3 organization and SUN Tech is an approved Earned Income Tax Credit recipient.  More information about the Challenge Fund or the SUN Area Career & Technical Education Foundation initiatives and fundraisers can be found at www.sun-tech.org or by calling 570-966-1031.
