Do you want to be the next Food Network Star? Attending the SUN Tech Culinary Arts program will put you on the right track to achieving this goal! In America, Service Workers make up 60% of the workforce. SUN Tech’s Culinary Arts program will teach you the skills needed to enter the exciting world of culinary arts.

The SUN Tech Culinary Arts Program will provide you with the skills and experience needed to prepare for an entry-level position in the Food Service industry.

The skills you will learn include:

  • Basic operation of a restaurant
  • Food preparation
  • Safety and Sanitation
  • Operation and maintenance of restaurant tools and equipment
  • Creating and planning of menus for restaurant and catering functions
  • Cooking & Baking
  • Customer service including; hosting, serving, and bussing of tables.
  • Cost  Control

Post-Secondary Opportunities

The Culinary Arts Program prepares students to continue their education at a variety of two and four-year colleges and culinary schools as well as entry into accredited apprentice programs. Several schools offers qualified SUN graduates advanced placement. This can save as much as $1200.00 on tuition, in some cases.

Some apprenticeship programs, and all military training programs, are free to the student and provide a competitive salary while you learn.

Certifications

Students who earn a proficient score on their NOCTI exam will be awarded a PA State Skills Certificate.

You will have an opportunity to work towards earning your ServSafe Certification; a recognized industry certification increasing your employability.

Program of Study

Culinary Arts is a SOAR approved program of study. This means that successful completion of this program earns you college credits that can be transferred to participating state colleges and universities.
