Health Professions – Patient Care Technician
The Health Professions, Patient Care Technician program, at SUN Tech helps you to understand the theory, or “the why” something is performed, and teaches the practical skills required to prepare you for a career in the health field. This college level curriculum will help you learn the responsibilities of a professional Patient Care Technician or Emergency Medical Technician and have the potential opportunity to perform skills learned as you deliver quality patient care at our clinical affiliations. Potential clinical affiliations include our local community hospital, medical offices, dialysis clinics, or phlebotomy laboratory. You will learn the importance of commitment to other members of the health care team. Preparation is primarily in a simulated work environment combined with clinical application.
The skills taught in the Health Professions Program you will use on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity to earn either a Patient Care Technician certification, or Emergency Medical Technician, which is valuable whether you choose to enter the work force immediately after graduation or further your education.
