Advertising Art Enters the Vans Custom Culture Contest

Students in the Advertising Art & Design program entered the Vans Custom Culture contest which inspires high school students to embrace their creativity and draws attention to the importance of art as an integral part of our schools’ focus. Registered schools received four pairs of Vans shoes to customize. Each pair must represent one of four themes: Action Sports (Defined as boards and bikes, not stick and ball!), Music, Art and Local Flavor (Inspired by your surrounding community, city or state). Students created sketches of their ideas for their chosen theme which were then voted on in class. Kelsey Bachman designed “Local Flavor,” Zach Bronish completed “Board Sports,” Leann Yerger won “Art” and Julia Zerby was awarded the “Music” theme.
