Elizabeth Clark and Laura Radel, Collision Repair Technology 2010-2011

Our names are Elizabeth Clark and Laura Radel. We both attended Mifflinburg High School. Laura and I are going to SUN Tech for Collision Repair and Technology. We are the only girls in a class of 16 students. Also in our class are two students from Lewisburg, one student from Shikellamy, two from Midd-West, one student from Selinsgrove and a total of ten students from Mifflinburg.

I came to SUN Tech because I wanted to learn about cars and how to repair them. Elizabeth came to SUN Tech because she wanted to learn more and has fun learning by doing hands-on projects instead of sitting in class doing book work. We both like working all day on new and challenging projects.

There are many different types of skills that we learn and get to practice. We do three different types of welds, prime, paint, wet sand, buffing, and more. Laura and I are currently working on her Dad’s 1972 Mustang. Other students can bring their cars or their families’ cars as well. Every project is different and sometimes can be hard, but we still get it done.

There are a lot of special things that we like about our program.  We both like being active and working with ours hands.  Our instructor, Mr. Gunther, shows us new skills that help us complete our projects. Meeting and making new friends is also fun.

In the future, I would like to get more experience in collision repair, get a good job, and some day start my own business. Laura’s future plans include going to college, joining the military and starting her own business.
